Palo Duro Canyon in the Texas Panhandle is one of the most scenic spots in the state.

Palo Duro Canyon, in the Panhandle not far from Amarillo, is one of the most ruggedly beautiful spots in Texas. I was told last year by a TP&WD employee that hunting for Auodad sheep was allowed, even encouraged in the park, because they competed with the Bighorn sheep the state was trying to re-introduce. Turns out there are neither species of sheep in the Park, and firearms nor hunting are allowed. I suspect he had the Canyon confused with one of the other West Texas Parks?
