AOTHER TWO-FER!

When deer don't co-operate, it's nice that the pigs do! These two young sows saved another slow day in the deer stand.

As yet more proof that sub-sonic .44 magnum ammo has plenty of power and penetration for hog killing, this latest “2-fer” came yesterday 11/9/2013). I was trying to get a shot at a larger sow, with holiday hams in mind, but she dodged back in the brush and would not come out, so I lined up on the largest shoat in the bunch – maybe 35 – 40 pounds – and sent a 335gr Hard Cast lead bullet its way at about 1050 fps. Saw something fall and heard a gawd-awful squealing, and when I walked the 60 yards or so to the scene of the crime I found the squealing was in stereo – had two pigs down! Both required finishing shots from my pistol(s), but they weren’t going to run off, and the bullet had passed through both and could not be recovered.
