Those who might doubt the “Euro” bloodline present in some Coastal Texas Feral hogs might look closely at the neck “ruff” on this youngster.

This little “monster” feeding under the cover of a heavy recent fog exhibits the “Euro” characteristics sometimes seen in Texas feral hogs. Some of this is possibly from a sort of “reverse evolution” brought on by habitat, or there may be a breeding influence from European boars that escaped from a “game farm” or hunting operation?
