SAN BERNARD TO GET BP FUNDS TO REOPEN RIVER?

September 5, 2013

For immediate release. Please announce the following event:

San Bernard Re-opening RESTORE Act Funding Workshop

Dr. Juan Moya will host a short grant writing workshop dealing with the federal RESTORE Act concerning the B.P. Oil Spill fines and penalty monies that will be awarded to the state of Texas. The workshop will immediately follow the regular meeting of Commissioner’s Court (9:00 a.m.), on Tuesday, September 10 at the Brazoria County Court House in Angleton, Texas. The Public is encouraged to attend and participate.

Mike – it means Brazoria County is making a formal effort to get the funding from some of the BP money. It seems that both Brazoria County AND Matagoarda County have this project as number 1 on their “wish” lists for RESTORE Act money. Dr. Moya is going to discuss how this can happen. It should be a good meeting to attend – as far as meetings go. It holds great promise.
Regards –
Jan Edwards
