THE TEXAS DEER BOOK by Steve Lamascus and Greg Rodriguez

I think so much of this book that I keep my copy in my truck, and very often re-read parts of it while sitting in a deer stand. When comparing my experiences in the field with the content of the book, they match more often than they don’t. At the time it was published (2005), both authors wrote for Texas Fish & Game magazine. Greg has moved on to write and make TV appearances for Wolfe Publishing, but Steve is still my colleague at TF&G, and the hooting editor. Both men have a lifetime of experience hunting and guiding for deer in Texas, and both are very knowledgeable on the guns, ammo, and archery gear best used for the task. No matter your own experience, you CAN learn something from this book, and if you are a beginner, I know of no book that will help you more.
