The old days of using a couple of different types of sharpening stones, a can of light oil, and a bunch of elbow grease to get a really good edge on cutting tools is gone. Enter the WORK SHARP knife and tool sharpener, which is simply a little bitty belt sander with positioning guides to sharpen both sides of the blade evenly – and quickly. Work Sharp says this product works for serrated knives, gut hooks, scissors, arrowheads, axes, lawn mower blades – or just about anything else. Soon after I purchased mine I had put a wonderful edge on my big S&W “Swat” pocket knife, two big sheath knives, and a “Woodsman’s Pal” – which is a short machete with a brush hook. The S&W knife has a partially serrated blade, and it worked as advertised on that. The sharpener comes with different belts for different types of blades and edges, and also guides for several uses. It is easy and safe to use, and a must for anyone who sharpenes several knives on a regular basis.

The WorkSharp knife & tool sharpener is a miniature belt sander for sharpening knives and other tools. The Havalon skinning knife on the right, with it’s removable scalpel blades, doesn’ need sharpening. The S&W “Swat” knife on the left DOES.
